Money sent to wrong account

By mistake, I have transferred money to a wrong account. Is there any way that I can reverse the transaction or the money can be returned?

Theoretisch kannst du das Geld durch einen sogenannten Überweisungsrückruf zurückholen. Das ist in der Regel nur kurz nachdem du die Überweisung freigegeben hast möglich und er kostet 14,90 Euro.

Wenn das Geld auf deinem Konto bereits gebucht ist - sich also nicht mehr im Status "offen" befindet - wird ein Überweisungsrückruf nicht mehr möglich sein. Setze dich mit dem Empfänger des Geldes in Verbindung und bitte ihn um Rücküberweisung des Geldes.

As @SMT_Erik already said in German, there is only a very short window during which a transfer can be recalled, and that’s probably over by now. So you need the recipient to transfer the money back to you.

Some larger companies automatically return any transfer that doesn’t contain a valid customer or invoice number. This would probably take just a day or two. For a smaller company or an individual, you will need to contact them directly and ask them to transfer your money back to you. In case they refuse, there are legal recourses, but it starts getting complicated.
