Post Ident for Ausländer

Hi,

I just invited my Sister to Comdirect as she is new in Germany and now she is a Student.

I am very surprised to see that now an Indian Passport is not accepted by Comdirect as a Valid Travel Document for PostIdent process in Deutsche Post.

Comdirect is saying that the Only option is to go for Notar.

As a student, definitely visiting a Notar on personal cost is very costly.

This is now a new definition from Comdirect saying that, Hey either you spend money or else we don't need foreigners.

Infact I, my wife, my friends (Indians too), we all have accunt here and we never had such a problem before.

(Removing the Term which I used earlier)

Regards,

Monis

I am sorry to hear that, @Monis.

But not all bureaucracy is racism.

Deutsche Post is responsible for Post Ident, they define which passports they accept. The rule of thumb is that any passport can be used that has similar security details than the German ID. Have you checked if you could avoid Post Ident completely by using Comdirec’s videoident? They might accept a different range of passports.

Deutsche Post did not had any problem by Post Ident for other clients.
Infact Comdirect customer care is saying that they revise their rules every year and it could be because of one or more new rules.
VideoIdent facility is only available for German, Austrian and Swiss Pass holders.

Hi Monis,

an Indian Passport will unfortunately not be accepted by Deutsche Post because of missing information about the issuing authority - which is necessary according to the German Geldwäschegesetz ("money laundering law").

See this thread on Facebook

Hallo @Monis,

"This is a new kind of Racism."
